ImogenArt privacy policy

Data protection laws governing how organisations (including ImogenArt, which is me), store and use your information change on 25th May 2018. I, Helen Imogen Field, under the name ImogenArt, send out very occasional mailings (emails) with news about my artwork, shows, services and so on.

If you have already signed up to my email lists (given your consent to receiving the very occasional email about my work), you don’t need to do anything to continue doing so. You can, of course, unsubscribe from this email list using the link at the bottom of a mailing, should you choose.

Here is our updated privacy policy, if you wish to view it.

ImogenArt
PRIVACY POLICY
25 May 2018

ImogenArt is Helen Imogen Field’s company name, and operations are at the present time a personal art project where Helen creates art then offers it for sale for gifts, the decoration of buildings, or domestic use.

This policy sets out how the data that you supply to me is kept safe. Your data may be or may not be personally identifiable as you, but the policy applies to the data that you supplied to me.

This policy sets out how ImogenArt complies with the General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) law which came into effect on 25 May 2018.

What data does ImogenArt collect?

Details stored for you are the names you choose to give me (first and second), your email and how you know me, or where you first signed up to my mailing list. These data are always stored securely and never shared (see below). You have the right to know what data is stored (see below).

Why ImogenArt collects personal data

We collect personal data from you if you choose to provide it, but accurate email addresses ensure that we can contact you in a personalised way, by email, with any news about the Imogenart Artwork projects, with a ‘how I met you’ to remind you who ImogenArt is.
We will not use your personal information for any other purpose.

How ImogenArt collects personal data

When you first connect with us, we collect your email and any personal data that you choose to disclose as follows:
You will have signed up for my email list, usually with pen and paper, during for example, an Open Studio, or via an electronic form from my website (this is submitted directly to MailChimp, see below). Your permission thus granted allows me to record your email and the above items of personal data which are then submitted to my records.

How we protect your personal information

I store written consent (paper records) in locked premises. Electronic records are saved only in electronic files accessible to me, which are password protected at all times, on computers stored in locked premises. Your details are also saved on a database at MailChimp, a trusted provider, from where emails are sent out (see below).

About your clear consent

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) your consent to allow me to store your data (email) for the purpose outlined depends on your explicit consent. This consent must be specific and verifiable. Verifiable consent requires a written record of when and how someone agreed to let me process their personal data (I have a book and sign-up sheets of when you signed up for my email list). Consent must also be unambiguous and involve a clear affirmative action (you gave me your email address – those who did not wish to be contacted simply left a comment).

How ImogenArt processes your data

Data collected from you is very simply processed but not shared with anyone. It is added to Imogenart’s account at MailChimp, which is a marketing company. I add your emails, the names you gave me and the way I know you, to a section of the MailChimp database service, so that Imogenart (Helen) alone may send you emails from time to tome. This is a trusted, secure service and all access is password protected. This allows me to send a large number of emails at once, and with pictures, personalisation and pretty formatting.

To learn more about MailChimp’s privacy policy, please look at their website, here (privacy for contacts):
https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/

If you wish to erase your data from the MailChimp database or my records please contact ImogenArt (Helen) who will action your request. You may also simply unsubscribe from the email lists at any time.

How long we keep your personal information

ImogenArt will only keep your personal information for as long as necessary to provide you with email news, or until the email no longer works, or until you ask us to remove it from our records, or as long as the ImogenArt legal entity exists, or Helen Field lives, or email lists are a mode of communication, whichever is the longest.

Your rights in relation to your personal information are:

  • You have a right to request access to the personal information that we hold about you by making a “subject access request”
  • if you believe that any of your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you have a right to request that we correct or complete your personal information
  • you have a right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal information for specific purposes
  • if you wish us to delete your personal information, you may request that we do so.
