Make a (not surgical) mask

Can I make a comfortable practical marvel costume (cos-play) from a drawing, making my own patterns and sewing from scratch? Turns out I can. I wore this too – slightly taller and thinner than the original model. Elasticated trousers under a feature top (yellow/black trim) and a separate jacket designed to be above the elbow. Yellow criss cross about hands and ankles – every detail from the Jean Gray 1952 (? so I’m told)
Turns out hubby thought of the tree/diagonal division design but I drew it up and did the batwing sleeves. The most comfortable jumper I ever wore. Close on the wrists but loose and big around the armpits. I’ve worn it out and am working on another.
This jumper is one from a pattern – created by another (so long ago that I don’t have a record). I did change the colour scheme of the big flowers so the blue and red interchange.
Had a pattern for a bag in Scottish moorland colours, so did this in a round in 6 sections for a laugh and a tam–0-shanter. The seaweed effect worked – for an artist’s hat!
This was eventually glued hard on the back, and I used an old wool duffle coat to make a soft strong wooden back of the same weight; it is now a cushion on my daughter’s Marvellous desk chair.
